People ask me all the time, “What are you going to do for our county when you get to Helena?”

That’s a fair question. But the honest answer is this: no one legislator goes to Helena and fixes big problems alone.

A legislator can make a difference. He can bring bills, ask hard questions, cast the right votes, and fight for the people back home. But real results take a team. And I’ve been asked by several Republican legislators to join that team so we can make real progress this time.

Most of what happens in Helena is basic government business, and somewhere around 85 to 90 percent of it gets support from both sides. But the big issues are different.

Property taxes. Family values. Parental rights. Judicial issues. Shrinking government. Stopping wasteful spending and cutting useless programs. Those are the big issues where both sides typically can’t come together.

When your teammates walk away, as many so-called Republicans did in the 2025 session, and choose the other side of the aisle, you’re bound to lose. That’s exactly what happened. Conservatives lost their working majority, and with it went the ability to firmly push back on runaway spending, government expansion, government overreach, and the steady erosion of family values and parental rights.

Government’s natural tendency is to grow. It always wants to take on more, spend more, and insert itself into problems that individuals, families, or private enterprise could often handle better and more efficiently.

That’s where it matters whether the people you send to Helena will hold the line or cave to lobbyists and outside pressure pushing an agenda that runs against our conservative, constitutional, and Godly principles.

So when people ask what I can do for our counties, my answer is simple:

  • I can be one dependable vote.
  • I can be one more person helping shrink government, stop the spending spree, protect family values, and defend our Montana way of life instead of working against those efforts.

One legislator can’t do it alone. But one solid legislator, working with the right team, can help make sure our district is represented the way it should be.
